Around Lake Tanuki, you can see the great nature views such as Kodanuki Marsh, Mt. Tenshi, Mt. Choja, Shiraito Falls, and Asagiri Plateau. Each of them remains with the culture and ideas of living of local people.
In older days, this lake was called Tanuki Marsh, small marsh growing reeds. Then it was dammed up to use the water for local agriculture, and it became Lake Tanuki. You can watch the famous "Diamond Fuji" in the third week of April and August; the sun rises from the top of Mt. Fuji, and it is reflected on the lake.
Located at the north of Lake Tanuki. This is the only one marsh at the Shizuoka Prefecture side of Mt. Fuji. The area is 1.75 ha. It has characteristic marsh ecological system, so you can see various plants and creatures here.
Located at north to west side of Lake Tanuki. Tokai Nature Path is running through. These mountains are popular for one-day climbing. You can look over Mt. Fuji, Southern Alps, Suruga Bay, and Lake Tanuki from the top.
Mt. Fuji spring is spouting out from the lava wall. Hundreds of big and small falls are looks like white threads, "Shiraito." Beautiful feminine look fall.
