Lake Tanuki Nature School is the facility of Ministry of Environment, built under "Nature School Project."
We provide hands-on nature programs by the well-trained staff members. Our facility consists of a visitor center and cottages for accommodation. We believe that the nature experiences are very important for all us, so we provide opportunities for people to enjoy the nature programs, to increase the interest for nature conservation, and to become motivated to help preserve the environment.
Professional staff members will lead you to have great experience.
You can find materials of nature information and responsible ways to use the environment.
20 cottages are located for people who want to stay a while and enjoy the nature around Lake Tanuki.
Effectively uses the nature resources such as the rain and the sunlight for managing the facility.
Inside and outside the facility are accessible by wheelchair, putting braille and trail for the people with visual impairment.
Lake Tanuki Nature School is managed and operated by the steering committee. It consists five members; Ministry of Environment, Shizuoka Prefecture, Fujinomiya City, Kyukamura Accommodation Association, and Japan Environment Education Forum.
